My friend and I brainstormed together to find out social problem that can be targeted with an idea. I realized after thinking and discussing for a long time that we have many friends who suffer from depression and anxiety, some of whom do not receive any treatment. There are lots of friends of ours who are immigrants. Their scholarships and insurance also don't cover these costs or it’s not reasonable to pay the costs as they have more important costs in their life.
Then I had to check how this is a big scale problem. After doing some research on the internet, I found websites and articles stating that this could be a serious issue worldwide. In fact, it was a good reason for me to consider this problem and decide to tackle it.
Using Statistics, Mind maps helped me explore different perspectives of a core problem and organize my mind. Additionally, it was useful to clarify the problem and start thinking about various ideas.
After organizing my thoughts using a mind map, I conducted an interview as primary research. When I was a bachelor student, I had a friend who studied psychology, so I contacted her to ask about my ideas and the problem. Her name is Marzi and now working in a clinic.
As a result of my interview with Marzi, I am convinced that there are two groups of users: Therapists or Counselor and in general, any psychologist who can assist others. Patients, Client, or better to say, those looking to get help and using the help of Therapists and Counselor. In order to have empathy with these two groups, I created two personas.
In order to make a comfortable space between these two groups and to have empathy with them, I named them Assistant & Partner.
I feel that my job is more than just a job to me. While I love to help my patients as much as I can, sometimes I feel people come to me late.
Alyssa is a therapist who loves her job and is always searching for ways to help others. During the week, she works for free in a clinic one day a week. She believes that psychologists in our era have an important responsibility since our new world is full of anxiety and mental problems, yet people do not believe they should give as much attention to their mental health as they do to their physical health.
I feel lonely and my daily routine is exhausting. There is no goal or achievement in my life. I can't sleep well because I fall asleep late at night and wake up early in the morning.
Sia works as a cashier in a large supermarket. Working there is stressful and tiring. Sia's work consists of the same activities every day and every hour, and he feels this repetition is not productive for him. He has health insurance, but it doesn't cover psychological treatment. He also feels that such a salary is not reasonable to pay for therapy. By spending that money on fun, he believes he can handle it.
Based on my discoveries during the discovery phase, particularly regarding my target users and their needs, I used 5Ws to adjust the problem.
I created HMW to the purpose of having a clear idea of what I have to look for also I can use it as a base for brainstorming solutions.
I did some analysis to figure out what digital products are currently available duo to this problem. I used the SWOT method to organize data, but to do it quicker I only used strengths and weaknesses.
Following competitive research, I felt that a business plan was important as the platform must be free for all, I needed to make sure that I could keep the product free for the final patients.
As a result of having a business model, I found that I should focus more on user values. As well as encouraging Assistants to join the platform, this would clarify the channels for increasing Partner user base.
I was better able to achieve the goal and find a solution after creating user stories based on personas and problem statements.

Once I had an idea of the goal, it was time to develop the info architecture. This made me think about all parts and iterate to see if I missed anything.
Due to the deadline of 5 days to present the project, I decided to focus on the website version of the "Request a session" flow. By doing this, I was more focused and had a complete flow and prototype.
In my mind, the two most important pages were Find an Assistant and Assist Profile. These two pages in the Request a session flow are the most important ones where users must search for an assistant and choose whom to speak with. I started sketching different solutions to come up with the right one. Next, I used the Role Play technique with the help of my user persona to determine the most suitable choice.
Branding makes it easier for the product to be promoted by itself. Additionally, users may be encouraged to return to the platform. In this project, I was looking to give users a sense of trust and calm when navigating the menus. To achieve this, I used curve shapes and the color combination green and blue. Sharp fonts here also, would be a good way to demonstrate how powerful the platform can be.
To create a high fidelity prototype for the "Request a session" flow, I had to create a UI. Since the deadline of the challenge was tight, I was able to have a basic design system which helped me test my UI and iterate. Design system created in Figma as components and variants to make further pages design faster and easier.
